Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
