Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
