Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
