3/4 Hizb 13
< random >
Say: 'Journey in the land, then behold how was the end of them that cried lies.' 11 Ask thern: 'To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth?' Say: 'Everything belongs to Allah.' He has bound Himself to the exercise of mercy (and thus does not chastise you for your disobedience and excesses instantly). Surely He will gather you all together on the Day of Resurrection - the coming of which is beyond doubt; but those who have courted their own ruin are not going to believe. 12 ۞ Unto Him belongeth whatsoever resteth in the night and the day. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 13 Say, "Shall I take as my protector someone other than God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, who feeds all and is fed by none?" Say, "I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit. Do not be one of the polytheists." 14 Say thou: I verily fear, if I disobey my Lord, the torment of a Mighty Day. 15 He from whom it is averted on that day, Allah indeed has shown mercy to him; and this is a manifest achievement. 16 "If Allah touch thee with affliction, none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness, He hath power over all things. 17 And He is the Supreme, above His servants; and He is the Wise, the Aware. 18 (Muhammad), ask them, "What is the greatest testimony? God testifies of my truthfulness to you. He has revealed this Quran to me to warn you and the coming generations (against disobeying God). Do you believe that other gods exist besides God? I solemnly declare that He is the only Lord and that I am not guilty of believing in what the pagans believe." 19 The people to whom We gave the Book(s) recognise this Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) as they recognise their own sons; those who put their own souls to ruin, do not accept faith. 20

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
