The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
