The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 save boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
