Nay, by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
