The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
