The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
