Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
