He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
