The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 a guidance and glad tidings to believers, 2 Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. 3 We make their deeds attractive to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, so that they may wander in perplexity. 4 It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. 6 Moses said to his family, "I have seen some fire. I shall bring you some news about it or some fire so that you can warmyourselves". 7 So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” 8 "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. 10 “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. 13 And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). 14
