۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
