The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is shaken 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And extended shade, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 for those on the Right, 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
