Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
