The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
