The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
