Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
