The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
