The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
