▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
