The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
