The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
