Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 My Lord! then place me not with the unjust. 94 Indeed, We are able to show you that which We promised them. 95 Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God. 96 And say thou: my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee against the whisperings of the satans. 97 O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me' 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 that I have left behind. I am likely to do good." Nay, it is merely a word that he is uttering. There is a barrier behind all of them (who are dead) until the Day when they will be raised up. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 then those whose scales weigh heavy with good works will be successful. 102 And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves, in Hell will they abide. 103 Their faces will be scorched by flames, and they will grin and scowl within it. 104 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Our Lord, bring us out of it. If we return (to sin), then we shall indeed be harmdoers' 107 Allah will say: "Away from Me; stay where you are and do not address Me. 108 Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" 109 "You mocked and laughed at them until you forgot all about Me. 110 [But,] behold, today I have rewarded them for their patience in adversity: verily, it is they, they who have achieved a triumph!" 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will say: "A day or less than a day. Ask the enumerators of numbers." 113 He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known. 114 "Do you imagine that We created you without any purpose and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 So Most Supreme is Allah, the True King; there is no God except Him; Lord of the Throne of Honour. 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful." 118
