The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and he belied the finest 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
