The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they have been differing? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
