The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
