The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
