Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Noble and recording; 11 They know all that you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
