The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
