The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
