The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
