The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
