Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
