The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
