The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 The One Who created, and then made proper. 2 Who determined and guided them, 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 Except what Allah, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 He will heed who feareth, 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 But those will prosper who purify themselves, 14 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays. 15 Nay, but you prefer the present life; 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 This, indeed, was in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
