The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 who brought forth the pasturage 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 We shall make thee recite, to forget not 6 except what Allah wills, surely, He knows all that is (spoken) aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer). 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 but the reprobates will turn away 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 In which they will then neither die nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And who remembereth the name of his Lord, and then prayeth. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 Indeed this is in the former scriptures. 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
