The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and flowing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
