The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 They are glad news and guidance for the believers 2 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. 5 As for you, (O Muhammad), you are receiving the Qur'an from the Most Wise, the All-Knowing. 6 When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. 7 When he approached the fire, he was told, "Blessed is the one in the fire and those around it. All glory belongs to God, the Lord of the Universe. 8 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 9 And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers. 14
