The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 We have made the deeds of those who do not believe in the life to come, attractive to them and they wander about blindly. 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, 10 "Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. 12 But when Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic." 13 They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! 14
