The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
