۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. 60 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
