The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, 2 Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” 3 Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. 7 We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. 8 Then We fulfilled the promise We had made to them: We rescued them and those whom We wished, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
