The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
