Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
