The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
