The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
