The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
