And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
