The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
