Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
